1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the IKAG (I Know a Guy) platform, creating an account, upvoting, or submitting content, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.
2. User Accounts & Eligibility
To participate in the community, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, maintain the security of your account credentials, and accept responsibility for all actions taken under your account. You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction to use our services.
3. Platform Rules & Acceptable Use
IKAG relies on authentic, uncorrupted community rankings. By using the platform, you agree to the following core guards:
- Honest Recommendations: You agree to only recommend real, verified local professionals and accurately state your relationship to the business.
- Anti-Spam & Vote Manipulation: We explicitly ban automated scripts, botting, fake accounts, or coordinated "upvote rings" designed to artificially inflate a business's ranking.
- Prohibited Content: You may not post defamatory, abusive, fraudulent, or illegal content. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech or harassment.
4. Content Ownership & License
You retain ownership of the text, images, and reviews you upload to IKAG. However, by submitting content, you grant IKAG a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, and transferrable license to display, host, distribute, and reproduce that content across the platform and our promotional materials.
5. Commercial & Featured Placements
Organic rankings on IKAG are entirely community-driven and cannot be purchased. We do offer clearly labeled "Featured Spotlight" slots for businesses looking to purchase visibility. These paid slots are distinctly separated from community rankings and do not imply an endorsement or recommendation by IKAG.
6. Limitation of Liability
IKAG is an independent recommendation directory and operates as a neutral platform for community-sourced information. We do not independently verify the licenses or insurance of listed professionals. IKAG is not responsible or liable for the quality, safety, legal compliance, or outcome of any work performed by a contractor, professional, or business found through the platform. Use your own discretion and due diligence before hiring.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to protect the integrity of the platform. IKAG may, at its sole discretion, remove any submission, strip illegitimate upvotes, or terminate user accounts immediately and without notice for violating these terms or engaging in manipulative behavior.
